Skits and Dramas

Hi everyone! For about the last week or so the group has prepared some great skits and dramas to show, whether it be at a church service or in the middle of a market. One we have worked on and done quite a bit is the Lifehouse Everything Skit. This is a skit that uses a song. There is no talking involved which is great to connect directly with the people here, no language barrier. It starts off with a girl and Jesus. He breathes life into the girl, creating her in His image, and he goes on to show her all His creation. She dances with Jesus, but then another boy comes into her world, pulling...

The Infamous “Everything” by Lifehouse Skit

If you´re not familiar with this skit, you can look at it on YouTube!      While in Peru we´ve had multiple opportunities to preform our own version of this skit. Anna organized it, Devin is Jesus and Ciara is the main girl. After Devin shows Ciara everything she can experience through Christ, Dylan comes in and whisks her away. He is followed by Mary who tempts Ciara with money and greed. Next Sydney and I strut across the stage, fix her makeup and encourage her to throw up to become thinner. Peter and Kayla act drunk and drag Ciara into drugs and alcohol, and...

Market Evangelism

Hola, everyone! Week Two in Lima and I’m still amazed how open the Peruvians are to the gospel. Their willingness to listen to us and hear about Jesus is so encouraging. A lot of our time last week was spent evangelizing in local markets. We split up into two groups and passed out tracts, prayed for people, and shared our testimonies with them. If our team had attempted this in the States, we would have been met with people who were too busy to take a flyer, too occupied to listen, and too uninterested to even give us the time of day. In Peru, however, people will almost always take a...

Party Church!

Hi everyone! This is Mary just writing a quick update on some of our experiences here in Peru so far. Our first week has been quite and adventure; getting settled in, trying new foods (we’re all still waiting on guinea pig), evangelizing in the markets and meeting new people. But one of my favorite experiences so far has been getting to know the people at the local church. These people know how to party! Coming from a american church their services caught me off guard at first, but sunday night really solidified in my mind the notion that these people know how to do church! We got there...

Devin’s Blog

Hey everyone. We are having a blast here in Peru! Training camp was awesome, but very hot. We are all getting along really well. Everyone has opened up and told stories or things they were dealing with. We have been doing a lot of market ministry. We also did one vacation bible school with kids so far. It was a lot of fun. We are all taking lots of pictures. I think everyone here misses home a little bit but does not regret coming at all. We have some great stories about the people we have encountered and the miracles that have happened in and outside our group. Time is flying by. It doesn’t...

Having Fun in Lima

Today, our team of Ambassadors, got to enjoy our free day in the city of Lima after a crazy first week of ministry. Sunshine and the sound of waves, and a whole lot of laughter and fun.     Top left: Just some girls down the street from where we are staying in Via El Salvador. Top right: Just after our 3 hour dance and worship party at Iglesia de Shalom. Yes, you read right, your “kiddos” danced for 3 hours! They were a “little” sweaty. Lucky us, the power went out just after we got home, so showers did not happen until this morning. Middle:...
