A letter to God dear Godthank you so much for this time in Swaziland and thank you for these amazing people that have already became my family. Our time in swazi has been incredible and very full of your lessons, laughs and love. You have shown me love in its purest form with all the people that we have ministered to and you have shown me simplicity as a way of life. Yesterday coming home from ministry driving through the bushes the sun was going down and I saw first hand your light shine through all darkness and you lit up the sky and this truly doesn’t describe the beauty that I...

This trip has been incredible! I’ll admit, going on this trip was terrifying for me. I was scared of the team dynamic, adapting to the living conditions, and ministering to complete strangers, but it has been nothing short of amazing! My team clicked immediately and we are just one big family. My leaders are awesome and they are funny, easy to talk to, and great examples of what it’s like to follow in Jesus’ footsteps. I didn’t expect to feel so “at home” here and it’s awesome that I’m so comfortable. The care points have been amazing....

A Work in Progress

A little background for those that don’t know me… I was born and raised in the church. Growing up, I accepted Jesus into my heart at a young age and have always been involved in the church since. Two years ago, I went on a missions trip to Mexico with my church, and this is where God met me and told me His plan for my life, missions. So I went to Mexico again, and God affirmed the calling and I began to see my future through his eyes. So coming on this trip I was thinking that it was going to simply be another trip consisting of serving others and being a missionary....

I’ll be honest, on this trip I’ve really missed the people I love. I miss my parents like crazy, I miss my friends, I really miss my beautiful girlfriend, and I even miss my brothers! My home church is currently reading through the Bible in a year, and I’ve gotten a little ahead of the church as a whole. Since I’ve been in Africa, I’ve finished all the Gospels and I’m currently in Acts. Through my reading I’ve made an important discovery. The discovery is this: the greatest power that exists on Earth is prayer. The same power...

Living Water: Peru Update

Here’s a blog about the Peru Team’s time in the jungle! Our time has been sweet, tough, and all of the things in between! Through it all, there was so much growth and so much to praise our sweet Jesus about!    grace: be where your feet are  at training camp, a friend told me to be intentional and be where your feet are. at the time, i appreciated this piece of advice, but i did not realize how important it would be while in peru.  there are only two days left in peru, but i look back and reflect on two weeks where living in the present was vital to...

As an enneagram six (google it if you don’t know!), I crave being safe and secure inside my comfort zone. However, I have a big, big God who, out of his love for me, wants me to see and feel much more than the tiny square inch of life that is comfortable to me. Here in Swaziland, God has given me yards upon yards of uncomfortableness. Yesterday, at market ministry, I experienced three particular incidents that were so outside of my comfort zone, yet quickly became some of my favorite memories. Simply put, market ministry consists of us going into the market and loving every...
