Who is Jay?

Heyoooo its Jay here. So far my experience in Costa Rica has been filled with many ups and downs but overall it has been amazing. At first when I landed in Georgia I was so scared to meet my team and I didn’t know what to expect at all, but when I got off the plane I got to meet one of my leaders Julia which made me feel a little better that I wasn’t going into the camp alone. When I met the team I instantly knew that we all were going to get along just fine. Fast forward three weeks we are now like family after spending every second of the day and night together we are closer than...

A Work in Progress

A little background for those that don’t know me… I was born and raised in the church. Growing up, I accepted Jesus into my heart at a young age and have always been involved in the church since. Two years ago, I went on a missions trip to Mexico with my church, and this is where God met me and told me His plan for my life, missions. So I went to Mexico again, and God affirmed the calling and I began to see my future through his eyes. So coming on this trip I was thinking that it was going to simply be another trip consisting of serving others and being a missionary. Basically,...

God Walks with You

Heyyyo! It’s Caitlyn here! I wanted to write a little about my experiences these past couple of weeks. To just give a little bit of background information, my team and I are in the jungle of Costa Rica at the Puerto Viejo YWAM base. We have been serving the community in many different ways, and it’s been really cool to experience all of it. So, basically I will share a few things that have been going on with me and my walk with Christ.    So, I’m sure you’ve heard the song Oceans, and if you haven’t I would encourage you to look up that song title and...

A Step in Faith

Two days ago I got back from a month long trip to Guatemala and honestly I am still processing everything and getting used to being back in the States. Each time my phone chimes, I am reminded of the group of people I left behind when I got on the airplane to come home. My heart aches for the kids I had to say goodbye to after a month of being in their lives. I think back to the people who influenced me at the base and the impact they will never know they made on me.  I tend to be a very closed off person..in my life I’ve seen people come and go, be there then not, and leave without...

Miracles in the Market

I know that we are at the end of our trip sadly but I just wanted to share one more incredible day with all of you. Wow! God is so good all the time and all the time God is so good! We arrived to the school on July 6th – which is were we have been teaching English to all of the classrooms and most importantly loving those children just as God loves us. Raina and I had a third grade class for about thirty to forty minutes in the morning, and then went out on activation. My team went to a super crammed market by the school to find the people that God wanted to encounter. As we were walking...
