Sharing, Testimonies, Drimes, and More

Everything is going great. We have gotten great opportunities hanging out with the women at the womens shelter. We have been playing games with the women and Herbie has shown us he is a pro at dominoes. The group came up with a Bible lesson to teach the women at the shelter. They taught on the fruits of the spirit. We prayed for many and many were moved by the spirit. We prayed for many and many were moved by the spirit. We visited the kids at Camp Joshua and taught them the fruits of the spirit too.  Each person helped the kids glue their fruit to the plate and go over the...

Waiting for the Flight

We made it through the check in and security great. Praise God. We are waiting until 11am for our flight. There are a few nappers after the team pulled an all nighter since we left at 2:30 this morning. We are still excited though. Keep praying and thanks for all those so far. God is Here!

How has God been showing up in your life on this trip?  This past year I struggled a lot with trust. Trusting that I would get into the college I wanted, and trusting God to take care of my every need. One evening during praise and worship, our leader asked us to ask God what he wanted us to do for him. As I was singing I saw an image in my head of the word ‘trust” descending from the clouds. Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct...

I’ll Never Forget These Times

I met a young woman named Tina when Seth’s group went prayer walking. She was sitting on her porch when we walked up. We said our hellos and immediately started talking. She used to live in New York, so she spoke English (yay!). She talked about how much she wanted to find a church she liked so her and her son could go. So, when we got back to the retreat center, we asked Erin (a leader) if we could bring her to church. She said yes, which was really exciting. So later we walked back to Tina’s to tell her about the awesome news. When we...

Lessons Learned So Far

A little reflection on lessons learned during this trip…  Servanthood is one of the greatest things I have learned on this trip. The people on my team love to serve each other. It is motivation for me to continue to serve others around me when I get home.          -Charis Riner I have learned to be much more patient. God has really helped me out in this area and I hope to go back home different than how I came.        -Sydney Ledford God has taught me so much while I’ve been...

Growing in Community

Going on a mission trip with such a huge group showed me just how important community is. Our group of 28 has grown to more of a family than a community. It allows us to openly talk to each other, immediately help others, and just limits the stress a lot. Anything or anywhere that God is working in, He uses the body of Christ. I realized that everyone has a role in this. Together we build up God’s army, and that is an amazing feeling. Realizing other people’s spiritual gifts and also finding my own. With this knowledge we have persevered...
