Shame Off You

There are so many things I could share about this trip thus far, but the thing most heavily on my heart is a topic not easily discussed yet has been mentioned in the bible since Genesis– shame. “And the man and his wife were both naked and were not ashamed.” Genesis 2:25 ESV. When I read this I wonder, “why shame?” God could have said that they knew no sickness or fear or anything really, but He specifically said shame. This leads me to believe that shame is the one thing that we were never created to know, yet shame is something we’ve all experienced....

Every single morning I wake up, walk out of my bedroom, and marvel at the beauty that God created all around me. I’m a firm believer that Swaziland is one of the most beautiful countries in the world. Most mornings I pinch myself as a reminder that I’m really in Africa. Isn’t that crazy? In 2 years God has literally taken me all over the globe. I pray for a yes kind of faith. I pray that whenever and wherever God calls me I’ll say yes. Life with Jesus is the most exhilarating, unexpected, wild journey that we could ever embark on, all we have to do is say yes. I love...

Ministry

Though we have only been in Romania for 5 days, my eyes have been opened to so many different things. One of which is the plethora of ways to do ministry. In my experience, mission trips have consisted of putting on a VBS for little kids, building relationships with them, and various other means of interacting with locals in the place we are staying. Therefore, we have spent our time so far attempting to pour into the missionaries in...

Agape Love

WOWOWOW. So far, Romania and its phenomenal people and rich culture have not ceased to amaze me. Contrary to popular expectation however, it hasn’t been the earth-shattering majesty of the city’s finest or the riveting rapidity of life that has taken my breath away. Instead, it’s been the deep rooted integrity of the people, the devotion to family and traditions, the discipline, and the raw elegance of Draganesti. It is this same commitment however, that has made it so difficult to reach these people with the gospel of Christ. It breaks my heart to see the very traditions...

New Perspectives

Romania is truly an astonishing country. I thank God so much for bringing me here. This trip has definitely been an eye opening experience for me and I have seen and heard God more than ever before. Our ministry here is very different than I am used to. I am used to delivering firewood and other labor ministry as well as interacting a lot with the locals. Our ministry here has been mainly praying for the missionaries and their families. I am very thankful that we have been able to do this because it gives me a different but good new perspective. The people of Romania are amazing. Once...
