Puerto Rico Update

Hola from team Puerto Rico!We wanted to post an update and let everyone know that we are doing GREAT!The team had a wonderful day of rest today including going to church in the morning and afternoon naps. We are super excited to be helping with camp for the kids here over the next 3 days.  Last week we enjoyed ministry in the local barrio and got to visit a veteran’s home here.  The team has had the opportunity to hear stories and share their stories.  We have collectively loved the beach and spending our quiet time by the ocean.  God has taught all of us so many things...

Post Puerto Rico: Choosing Crazy over Comfort

Two weeks ago tonight, I met the 10 individuals who I would travel to Puerto Rico with to share Christ’s unconditional, abundant love. My emotions were running in 5 million, different directions as I tried to fall asleep on a sleeping mat in a tent as the rain relentlessly poured down. I was nervous to see what our trip would encompass, I was unsure if I was where God even wanted me to be, practically I was super uncomfortable. Update from Puerto Rico!

What a week it has been since our last post! Last week our time was split between work projects and Vacation Bible School.   The team got their hands dirty cleaning up a yard that was overgrown with weeds, plants, and broken up cement blocks.  The families living on the property were unable to do the work themselves, so we were happy to make a difference.  The yard looked great when we finished up.     After lots of sweat and hard work each morning, we headed back to camp for lunch and some chill time before heading back to the barrio.   One of our hosts, Kaylah,...

Bienvenidos a Camp Caribe!

After a little bit of sleep, and lot of fun at training camp, our team, Las Solicitantes (the seekers) set our alarms Sunday night for 2:45 AM! We drank some coffee and enjoyed our sack breakfasts in our fr-fr-freeeeezing terminal at the airport, anxiously awaiting our flight to San Jose, Puerto Rico! We prayed for safety and smooth sailing (flying?) and The Lord provided.    After landing, our contacts Kaylah and Harry picked us up, and we got to enjoy some real Puerto Rican food for lunch… tacos from taco bell 😉 The commute to our camp took about 45 minutes, and we took in...

Ready for training camp

Wow! I cannot believe that it is finally here! It seems as though just yesterday Puerto Rico was just a possibilty in my head, and now it is finally here!! I am so so super excited to see what God will be doing through my team and I these next couple of weeks! As for right now I ask that y’all pray for our safety, and for the people we will be serving and loving on these next couple of weeks! Thanks so much! And I will be sure to post as much as I can!
