Drifting away from my comfort zone

I have never posted a blog before, and I can honestly say I have no idea how to start. I guess I can say that this experience has been so different than anything I have ever seen. Yes, I have been to east Africa twice, but this is so much farther out of my comfort zone. First off, I came with a group of girls, from all over the country, that I have never met before; and let me make it clear, I have never done anything like that in my life. I went to Kenya with close friends who I have known for years. Although it is different, it has been awesome. My team is like a family, and we became...

Peace in the Midst

Well this my 9th day out of California and away from everything I have ever known and have been comfortable with. I guess I left with expectations that I did not even know I had about this trip; from training camp in Atlanta, Georgia, to the Amsterdam airport layover, to right here lying on my striped mattress at a church compound in the middle of Kampala, Uganda, Africa. There are so many stories, prayer and worship times, outreaches, and just loving on people! Since there is so much I guess I will just talk about 2 subjects, that relate into one subject, that has been significant to me...

Isaiah 61:1… Look it Up!

Hey, Everyone!! I’m so pumped to update you all on how awesome this trip has been! These past three weeks have been a whirlwind of God’s love and power. Our last week of ministry was overflowing with Christ’s presence as we all went to a primary school, a high school, and a baby home one last time. I think I can speak for the whole team when I say we’ve left a piece of our hearts with the people of Uganda. There has been nothing but positivity and welcoming hearts since we got here three weeks ago, and saying goodbye was so very bittersweet. We’ve been so...

African Beauty

When I first thought of Uganda I thought dusty, dry, rocky roads. When I finally arrived I was astonished by all the beautiful greenery and lush trees. There are so many different trees and plants. This place is simply beautiful, quite possibly the prettiest place on earth. Uganda could very well be Eden. I have the best team in the world, amazing leaders, wonderful people surrounding me, and two pet monkeys. What more do I need?! We have done a lot of amazing things! We have visited a lot of primary schools and danced, sang, and played games with the kids. We visited a baby...

Only a Week Left?

This week of ministry has flown by! We could not have a more awesome group of girls willing to work hard and be the hands and feet of Christ. We’re having a blast! These past few days have been exhausting but so rewarding. We were able to visit an orphanage and help out with their morning routines. 34 extra hands to help out with the children was such a blessing to them. We had to pry ourselves away afterward! We visited some primary schools and were able to have some small group time with girls at a nearby high school. The team loved being able to pour in to girls their own age!Our...
