Coming To Terms With My Emotions

Hi there everyone. I have enjoyed my trip to Nepal and feel that I’ve learned so many valuable lessons on the way I feel and or my emotions. I’ve seen a reoccurring theme during my time here and I’mg enjoying every moment and thing God is opening my eyes too.   As someone who uses their brain a lot, I tend to have a hard time paying attention to the world around me. I can often space off and miss out on somethings that are going on. I’ve also felt that once I quiet my mind, my heart tends to be more open. On this trip, I’ve been able to play games with...

Short and Simple and Sponges (Post Trip analysis)

Two months ago I was leaving the country for the first time. I would be traveling for 41 hours to a place that is literally halfway around the world. I think I can say for my entire team that we expected something entirely different. Upon arrival, we immediately realized what it meant to be a foreigner. It became challenging in some ways in that we couldn’t understand the language and didn’t really know what to expect when it came to adjusting to something new like this. My time back in the States has been filled with me thanking the many that supported my team and me through prayer,...

Just A Glimpse of Jesus

The second day of ministry hit me the hardest. When we walk towards our first slum for ministry we cross over the river on this metal bridge. The part that hit me was the view of the river. On the river’s edge was an insurmountable amount of trash. The thing is, there was still plenty of life. The coast was filled with flourishing trees, bushes, and shrubs. This reminded me of one of my favorite passages, Psalm 57. Even though...

B is for Brotherhood

Rock climbing, the market, the Holy Spirit leading, and the power of prayer. These phrases can describe our time so far in Nepal.  July 9 was our first off day here in Nepal. We decided to go rock climbing. Getting to our destination was a struggle. A van that would comfortably fit twelve people was packed with twenty-five people. Since being here, we have either traveled by the means of public transportation or we have walked. The Nepali people make most of what they have. While we were rock climbing the spiritual gift of exhortation was present in every single team member. All seven of...

Nepal Ministry Update

Wow, it’s been an incredible time so far here in Kathmandu!  Here’s a quick recap of what we’ve been up to here. This past Friday we hiked a nearby foothill located south of Kathmandu to a the Shree Santaneshwor Mahadev Temple.  This Hindu temple offers a great view of all of Kathmandu, and it’s also where women travel to receive the blessing of fertility.  We spent our time there praying over Kathmandu as a whole, that God’s hand would continue to move powerfully in the lives of all who live here.  We also prayed over the temple and over those...
