First Glances of Ireland

We have arrived.Five days ago, actually. But the the jet-lag and simple fact that we’ve been soaking up EVERYTHING…we have neglected the blog. But don’t fret… no more.I will do my best to get every single one of the teammates to blog at least once. This week we have been living in Drimoleague…Sleeping in tents. We live on the most beautiful mountain…It hardly feels like a mission trip,But the Lord is blowing us up in so many ways that it’s evident that we’re here for a divine purpose and reason. We see rolling hills everywhere we look.People have...

Guatemala So Far…

7/4/2014-7/6/2014        Training camp was two and a half days in Atlanta, Georgia (I saw fireflies for the first time) which we spent learning people’s names, trying to be kind when tired, and growing in our gratitude for foods on our top 10 list. The Guatemala group quickly developed an awkward cohesion of newly made friends while working through the “team builders” that required the climbing of “Mt. Everest,” the avoidance of “lunar lava,” and the presence of trust and hand holding.      After the preliminary...

Time in Tent City

Today, we went to a feeding in a place called Tent City. It got the name because most of the houses are made out of tents. The people who live there are so kind and selfless. They smile from their hearts despite the circumstances that they are in.    The kids, with their tattered clothes and too big flip flops lined up with their cups and bowls to be fed. After they had all eaten, some of the people we came with pulled out balloons and started making animals. The kids immediately piled all around with their hands grabbing here and there.  I went up to a teeny tiny girl and...

Let the Hills Hear Your Voice

“Here what the LORD says: Arise, plead your case before the mountains, and let the hills hear your voice.” – Micah 6:1   It is hard to believe a week has already passed since the eleven of us started out on this crazy journey the LORD called each one of us on. Training camp was exactly what each of us needed before we left for the beautiful country we are now calling home for the next few weeks, and though we have only been here four days, God has already done so much.   We are staying in the small village of Drimoleague, Ireland at the most picturesque campsite...

Ambassador Philippines 2014 Team Update

After 24 hours of travel, the Ambassador team arrived safely in the Philippines Tuesday evening.   After some rest, we quickly jumped into ministry. Kids International Ministries, or KIM, is heavily involved in serving the local community. They feed surrounding communities twice a day, Monday through Friday. We’ve had many opportunities to join in on the “feedings,” serving food and playing games with the kids.  At the Children’s Home, we are able to assist the caregivers and spend some much needed one on one time with the 40 kids, toddlers and...

Peace in the Midst

Well this my 9th day out of California and away from everything I have ever known and have been comfortable with. I guess I left with expectations that I did not even know I had about this trip; from training camp in Atlanta, Georgia, to the Amsterdam airport layover, to right here lying on my striped mattress at a church compound in the middle of Kampala, Uganda, Africa. There are so many stories, prayer and worship times, outreaches, and just loving on people! Since there is so much I guess I will just talk about 2 subjects, that relate into one subject, that has been significant to me...
