One Love – One Heart

“If I could speak all the languages of earth and angels, but didn’t love others, I would only be a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. If I had the gift of prophecy, and if I understood all of God’s secret plans and possessed all knowledge, and if I had such faith that I could move mountains, but did not love others, I would be nothing. If I gave everything I have to the poor and even sacrificed my body, I could boast about it; but if I didn’t love others, I would have gained nothing.” -1 Corinthians 13:1-3 My name is Sara Cox and I am 17 years old. I have been in...

Travel to San Pedro, Guatemala

Today was a travel day for team Guatemala. We left Antigua and drove through the mountains to San Pedro where we will spend the next ten days. Sometimes traveling through the mountains can be a little nerve racking (especially if you get car sick!) But God can use any experience to show us more about His love for us.  Check out Emily’s story from our travel day!  Hello,This is Emily Dillehay typing to you from a desk next to the hammocks on our porch in San Pedro. It is beautiful and foggy here. I am loving it. However, the drive here was not the most relaxing. You see the...

Full Days and Full Hearts

It is always such a good feeling to fall into bed at the end of the day knowing that you gave all of yourself in submission to the Lord. Today has undoubtedly been one of those days. We had an early morning walk to breakfast up what can only be classified as a minor mountain, or giant hill. After stuffing our faces with the fluffiest pancakes in Guatemala, we took a super fun truck ride through the mountains to a nearby village. The chaos of children’s ministry ensued. Some extremely servant hearted students chose to dig, and haul, pounds and pounds of mud (under the watching eye of...

Albania!

Well hello everyone! I would like to just say that we have had a fantastic time in Albania and we are still going strong! Thank you for all of the parents for sending your incredibly talented children to do missions, it’s so fun to work with people who adore what you do, whether it’s manual labor or hanging out with kids at a summer camp. We all have had the pleasure to meet and greet new people every single day, it’s been tuff some days because We are so far away from home, but We keep two feet on the ground and never back down! Words can’t really express how much...

The light of the world

I came into this not knowing what to expect. I never truly knew the meaning of reaching out through mission work until a speaker at my training camp explained that missionary work is about God changing the people around you it’s not you changing them, you are the messenger. Humbling isn’t it? After we got to Jamaica I struggled with finding my purpose here and why I felt that God hadn’t used me to make a difference until one day when God opened my heart. We went into the village to talk to the local Jamaicans about God, coming to church and just about them. Coming into it...

Post Puerto Rico: Choosing Crazy over Comfort

Two weeks ago tonight, I met the 10 individuals who I would travel to Puerto Rico with to share Christ’s unconditional, abundant love. My emotions were running in 5 million, different directions as I tried to fall asleep on a sleeping mat in a tent as the rain relentlessly poured down. I was nervous to see what our trip would encompass, I was unsure if I was where God even wanted me to be, practically I was super uncomfortable. When I signed up for this trip, I knew it wasn’t going to be comfortable. I had gone on mission trips before, but always with the comfort of...
