Right now we’re on a bus heading back to America. It feels very surreal. I’ve anxiously waited for this day for a long time now. I was excited for this day, but yet very nervous. I cannot wait to go home and give my family a big hug. I’ve really missed them. But, I know that going home means that real life starts back. In 1 week I start school again. That can really be scary. I’m finishing this journey just to start another. But I’m reminded that my comfort in times of change comes from the Lord. One of the ways that the Lord comforted me this month was through...

As we conclude our two weeks of ministry at the CarePoints, I have begun to reflect on the many lessons I have learned as we spent time ministering. On our last day, my team listened the choir practice at our CarePoint. As I sat and listened to a group of children sing with joy to the Lord, I was overwhelmed by the love of God. The kids at the CarePoint have nothing compared to American culture, yet they are filled with joy and hope. One of the big reasons why I wanted to go on this mission trip was to have the opportunity to love on children. I have always had a heart for African kids and some day in the future I want to adopt from Africa. The CarePoint I was able to serve at was called Bheveni. At Bheveni I was able to play with kids, serve them food, and just hold them in my arms. All of the kids would run up to you and...

Guys, God is so so good. Just seeing Him move during this entire trip has been so amazing. Coming into this trip I was extremely nervous. I had never been away from home for so long, my aunt had just pasted away, I was a wreck. I was so worried my fear and pain would keep me back from everything God had for me here, but boy was I wrong. I can’t explain the peace God has given me during this whole trip. He really saved me from feeling overwhelmed by homesickness and I can’t believe we only have a week and a half left. We went to the carepoints for the first time last week and it...

Who is Jay?

Heyoooo its Jay here. So far my experience in Costa Rica has been filled with many ups and downs but overall it has been amazing. At first when I landed in Georgia I was so scared to meet my team and I didn’t know what to expect at all, but when I got off the plane I got to meet one of my leaders Julia which made me feel a little better that I wasn’t going into the camp alone. When I met the team I instantly knew that we all were going to get along just fine. Fast forward three weeks we are now like family after spending every second of the day and night together we are closer...
