Singing Praises

Today the word fluid which has been reiterated to us since training camp took on a whole new meaning, yet ended in a blessing. After presenting nearly fifty precious Mexican children with the parable of the lost coin we realized that we were stuck with the middle age group and had nothing prepared. Expectant faces stared at us from wooden church pews but we could not allow ourselves to panic. We quickly searched our brains and rapidly decided upon leading the children in a song time. Those minutes filled with worship turned out to be the highlight of my day. The Lord brought to mind...

Our First Children’s Program

Wednesday, our team hosted a children´s program at Pastor Eduardo´s church.  We performed skits, sang songs, read Bible stories, learned verses and made crafts.  The children seemed so content with what they had and just so happy to spend time with us.  God really shone through the kids and showed me how blessed I am and how appreciative I need to be.  God spoke to me through these kids.  We all need to live a life for Christ and realize how blessed we truly are and not be selfish.  God can do amazing things so just stay strong!  Gracias a...

Colonia Adventures

Today was our first day of VBS and what a success! We had fun with all kids that came, they were awesome! One of our team-mates got a flesh wound, but he’s bandaged, well and back with us tonight. We also had a prayer walk in a local “colonia” where our leader Naomi use to live. We split up into two groups and had “ATL” Ask The Lord time. Our group was praying for God to show us where he wanted us to go. We met six litle boys, and they led us to a VBS that they were having in the “colonia” that day. We met the...

Stinky, Itchy, Team Romania

Training Camp: We haven’t showered, we all have poison ivy, our pee is blue, our leaders spit water on us, slap our feet, pole dance, throw mud at us, and scratch our chins. No, but really. We didn’t shower for the first two days of training camp. We stood in poison ivy during one of the team building activities (but none of us ended up with it! So don’t worry.). The water in the port-o-potties was blue. One of the other team building activities was to teach us how to communicate with other cultures, and this involved them spitting water, slapping our feet, and...

Day 1, San Juan

First day in San Juan. Today is the 22nd and it was our fist day in San Juan. It was a little slower start than we expected but was nice because it gave us some time to rest after our 18 hours of travel to get here. We spent the morning praying and walking around the town visiting with kids,  and after lunch we prepared a little for children’s ministry that we will be doing in a couple days. In preparation we wrote a drama/ bible story, and Christina and Morgan  spent a while translating it while the rest of us figured out games and songs. In the afternoon we went to...
