Love and deep, deep feelings

Hey hello hi from Africa! We just ended our first day of ministry here in Swaziland. Well, the day isn’t over yet. So we still have ministry opportunity. Thats a cool thought. Its Friday, July 3, 2015 – just a regular date besides the fact it is the day before the forth of July. But not for me. Not for our team. Today we did what we have been preparing to do for months, for days, this is why we flew 15 hours and drove probably, 5 hours, this is why we went through training camp, why we did team building games, why we prayed and worshiped, why we begged for wisdom to rain down on...

Finding Christ’s Beauty in the Water of Swaziland

Today we spent the day exploring Mantenga Falls and the Mantenga Cultural Village. We learned about traditional Swazi culture and enjoyed the natural beauty of Swaziland’s mountains. After swimming in thecold water, jumping off of rocks and taking tons of pictures we took advantage of the beautiful scenery and conducted baptisms. We had 13 team members rededicate their lives to Christ and 1 team member who was baptized for the very first time. It was such a special experience and couldn’t have been a more beautiful moment with the waterfall in the background and surrounded by...

Special Day at Timbutini 2 Carepoint

Today, we had the opportunity to host a special fun day for the care point at Timbutini Two, which is the care point we visit every afternoon during the week. This is a care point that isn’t sponsored and we are the first group to serve there. Some of the children at this care point have never seen white people so us just being there is special to them, but this truly was a special day.  We were able to provide the children and the Gogo’s at this care point with a day of games, food and lots of laughter. As we arrived around 9:30 there was already a crowd of children...

Healing in Swaziland

God is so faithful. We ask and He gives and shows. The Ambassador team of teens and their two leaders that spent the month of July in Swaziland asked and God showed up in a BIG way! Here is how one participant told the story. “I saw God do an incredible healing. A five year old girl had been hit by a car at preschool when someone pushed her into the road. The first day at the hospital the girl wasn’t talking and couldn’t walk. The next day she was counting to 10, waling around, and eating candy. The next week when members of our team went back they found out she...

We Don’t Worship the Fruit

Each night, the fourteen of us sit around our common living space and talk about our day. It is a time filled with sharing moments with children at the care points. Sometimes it’s sad stories of the kids’ lives at home. Sometimes it’s happy stories of a brief break in the language barrier where we were able to share something about Jesus with a child. There are stories of praying with the sick and elderly at the Hope House. Also, stories of passing out food in Manzini and the many people we were able to share the gospel with and pray for, even leading some to...

To Jump or Not to Jump?

As we rounded the last corner through the woods, the scenery suddenly opened up to show us the majestic Mantenga Falls. The water rushed over the sides of the cliff falling 95 meters to the icy cold ravine below.                          It was a good hike from where we were to get near the base of the falls. Some of us found contentment just sitting on the rocks, occasionally putting our feet in the water. Some were more adventurous, attempting to scale the rocks to the top of the falls. But for me, it was all about...
