Ministry Snapshots

Hello friends! God is working so powerfully in Swaziland!! Today some of us went to the Hope House, which is a place for people who are recovering from injury or sickness. I met this one man named Mark. He was in a car accident last year, and he broke several bones. He recently had to have surgery, and he is in the Hope House recovering. He had such strong faith! He said that even though he is suffering, he trusts God and knows that God is using this time to make him stronger. He was so happy that we visited him! He said that he has family but none of them had come to see him. We were able...

First Impressions of Swazi

Sawubona! I’ve never been so content and felt so blessed to be sitting in the dirt with a small child sleeping in my lap. The only communication we had was his snoring which was surprisingly loud for a child his size. I am thrilled to spend our day at these care points for the coming weeks. -Georgia It’s only day 1 and the Lord has already wiped away every doubt I’ve had. There have been a couple times when I questioned God and I have wondered if this is what He has called me to do. Yet, running around with the children made all that go away. I am here for a reason. And...

Exploring Manzini

Hi friends! Praise God that He has gotten us safely to Manzini, Swaziland. After 3 days of training camp in Georgia, a crazy long plane ride, and now one day in Swaziland, our team is truly growing into a family. Today we explored Manzini, learning the important places and getting to know the town. We went to a small hospital and prayed for the sick people there. Tomorrow we will start our ministry, which will include a LOT of working with children. I look...

Coming Home

All of us! Growing up, we sometimes take the things around us for granted. The families we grow up in, the presents under the Christmas tree, the education we receive, the food on our dinner table (not to mention breakfast and lunch), the countless opportunities around us, and the future at our fingertips. These past four weeks have been a continual wake up call to the realities of our world and to be honest, they are a far cry from the lives we have lived. Sometimes the pain and injustice our eyes and ears have encountered here in Swaziland has been too much to handle; and, in those...

Clothes Drive

Sorting clothes; Jess handing out dresses!   Sam and Jamie helping the ladies figure out sizes. Yesterday, we were able to spend our afternoon handing out clothes to children at one of our carepoints. Two weeks ago we had sorted through truckloads of apparel and organized our findings according to size and gender. Now, we loaded up our hard work into four vehicles and traveled down bumpy, dusty roads to one of the rural carepoints. We had dozens of totes filled to the brim with shirts, socks, pants, dresses, hats and underwear. We set up a line of clothes where the...

What God Has Been Doing in Swaziland

What has God taught you throughout your time in Swaziland?   One of the biggest things that the Lord has been revealing to me is that He is working ALL the time. He also works in ways that we, as humans do not always fully understand. He always has a plan for each of our lives! -Katherine Katherine getting her hair braided by the kids! God has taught me a lot on this trip. He has been teaching me about how to trust in Him more including what he has planned for me. -Riley Riley loving one of the young boys at our second carepoint.  God has been giving me faith to trust in...
