Beautiful Day

7•7•18Today was a beautiful day at the care point today. The care point was down a long, dirt road, deep in the mountains. When I arrived, a little girl under a tree outside the care point fence all by herself caught my eye. I went over to her and said hi and she said hi back. She was very shy. I got her to come over to me and when she realized I was there for her, she started clinging to me and wouldn’t let go of my hand. She couldn’t stop smiling. I took her over to the slides and we started racing each other down the slides. She also tried to get me to do the monkey...

Puerto Rico Team is Safe!

Hi all!  We know there may be some concerned parents wondering about the safety of the Puerto Rico team with tropical storm Beryl passing by. Well, we are grateful to update you that WE ARE SAFE! The storm has lost its strength, so it’s really just a typical rainy day here in Juana Diaz, Puerto Rico!  Our normal ministry is all outside, so today we adjusted and did some evangelism in the mall. It was really cool to see how God moved as we got outside of our comfort zones! And now we are seeing the Incredibles 2 together – what a great way to spend a rainy...

The Gospel is Boring

In the same way “You’ll shoot your eye out kid” seems to lose a bit of humor each holiday season, the stories of Jesus feeding the five thousand, Peter on the water, and Christ on the cross decrease in power. Something along the lines of, “If I hear about Jesus calming the storm one more time I’m going to combust,” has sadly trudged through my brain heavy with dread during a sermon or two. How can this be when I truly love Jesus? I’ve realized...

She Smiled

Today we did market ministry. As I was walking down the streets of Manzini, I saw a blind woman alone begging on the sidewalk. My heart started beating fast and I knew I couldn’t just walk past her without doing anything, so I told my teammates there was a blind woman we should go visit, so our group stopped and I walked up to her. She didn’t know much English. She told us she knew Jesus and she said she had accepted the fact she was blind and told us not to pray for her blindness, but rather for her to get off the streets and get a job. So I grabbed her hand and such a...

Immeasurably More

By Lindsey Keith – Guatemala 2 Week 2nd Launch Immeasurably more. Two words, that put together, speak such volumes. Some never fail to know that God will provide, that he will love, that he will comfort you. But what if there’s more? The Lord we serve provides prolifically more. He loves radically and unconditionally, and he comforts beyond comprehension. These two words, “immeasurably more” have been my phrase of focus since coming to Guatemala, a country and culture that has completely enthralled me. Ephesians 3:20-21 reads, “Now to him who is able to do...
