This past week has been bittersweet as we’ve had to say goodbye to children and gogo’s that we’ve become very close to. We’ve had sweet team times and know your kids are coming home knowing the Lord’s love in their lives even more intimately and feeling really alive inside! Praise the Lord!
We got a chance to go on a safari this week as well. We saw lots of fun African wildlife like a huge lion, rhinos and a pack of elephants. It was an incredible day and we are in awe of God’s creation! We also had Chicken Day on the homestead where we had a competition for the best chicken hat, an egg toss, catching a chicken to dress it up and other fun chickenesque activities. It was a blast!
But alas, all good things must come to an end. We arrived at the Betor house in Nelspruit, South Africa this afternoon. It is a guest house for missionaries to stay at and get rest. We had an amazing dinner of chicken pot pie, salad, bread and BROWNIES! We also spent some time in worship and talking about going home. Everyone is excited to see loved ones but sad to leave a place we’ve really grown to love!
Tomorrow we depart for Johannesburg and fly out at 8:20pm. We arrive safe and sound in Atlanta at 6:35am on Thursday. I’m sure you will all be excited to know we have two feet on American soil but I personally am looking forward to all that in flight entertainment and delicious airplane food!
See you in America!
