Our first week here in Puerto Rico has been nothing short of incredible! We are in Juana Diaz, staying at Campamento del Caribe, a camp that runs several children’s camps throughout the summer. Hundreds of lives have been changed because of Campamento del Caribe and we’re so grateful to be a part of this. The week after our team leaves Puerto Rico, the first camp of the summer begins, and they’re expecting a lot of kids. Our role here has been to ready the grounds for the arrival of these kids by painting, cleaning, building things, etc. There is so much to do and we are privileged to serve.
Each day, we wake up around 6:00 AM and eat breakfast by 7:00. We then have team prayer (usually on the beach!) and then begin our work by 8:00. The last few days, we’ve been working on painting a huge fire pit/meeting area. We hope to be completely done with it by next Monday. Tomorrow we’ll begin cleaning, organizing, and rearranging the camp for the camp counselors to arrive.
After we finish our work for the day (usually around 3:30 PM), we’ll either jump in the ocean and splash around for a bit, or go and get Frappes. Frappes are smoothie drinks that are quite possibly the most delicious thing any of us have ever tasted. They’re cold and fresh and welcomed after a long day of work in the sun!
God has been doing incredible and deep things in this team. Please continue to pray that we go even deep after what God has for each of us!
Here are pictures from our first week on this beautiful island!
Our night of arrival. We have beds! We have a bathroom! We are so thankful!

The beautiful beach is right in our backyard! We often do team prayer times on the beach.
