Numb

Numbness. It’s a feeling we’ve all felt at some point or other. Recently, I fell asleep on an exceptionally bumpy bus ride and woke up feeling as if I had lost a leg. Sometimes, when I was a diligent young student, I would be rudely awoken in class only to find out that I in fact could not take notes because I had laid my head on my hand and this rendered it periodically fuzzy feeling. In my walk with Jesus I have also periodically noticed this same feeling; sometimes my spirit feels numb. Sometimes my heart seems to be put of commission, slave to an alien sensation or no...

Bold and graceful lily

Like a lily among thorns is my darling among the young women. -SOS 2:2 The first moment stepping off the truck and into the village can be disorienting. As you’re driving along you never really know exactly how much farther before you arrive at the church so as I step out I’m always fighting back the “spacy brain syndrome” and trying to identify who’s who. Monday afternoon I was quickly shaken out of my semi-stupor by a woman whose spirit was BOLD. She didn’t hesitate one bit with our team and her audacity made me want to know her that much more. Breaking The Shell

We I first arrived in Jamaica we got off the plane and I felt that we were just throw right in to everything and it had been a long day already waiting at the airport to leave. So I felt like I  didn’t want to be there and I didn’t want to get to know anyone. I just wanted my mom. I refused to eat anything that was new me. I just wanted to be home.My leaders Rachel and Kirsten each took me a side and told me it was okay to feel like this and it was okay to miss home. They encouraged me to not only to eat but to try new things. So I started slowly working on things, but I...

The Weight of Glory

10 days, only 10 days I was able to spend in Jamaica, but wow did God make the most out of that very short time. He stretched me physically emotionally and definitely spiritually in ways I have never been stretched before. 2 Corinthians 4:17 says “For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison”?? these past two weeks have definitely been another step in preparing me for that oh so sweet weight of glory.Me, tyler, and over 20 girls, makes for a pretty crazy experience, and I had no clue what to expect. I decided that I was...

Over the Airwaves

Sometimes, doing kingdom work looks like shoveling loads of gross, muddy, pig slop, sweating so much your eyes burn, and working until theres no strength left in your fingers to hold the shovel. However, there are other times where ministry looks like being invited into a Christian Radio studio to sing, speak and share. For the ambassadors of God’s Kingdom to Guatemala ministry Wednesday was a super fun time of being on the radio! God has been blessing us, and using us to bless this nation–in the streets and over the airwaves.

Gifts of Food and Hearts of Service

We have had a busy few days here in Guatemala! From playing sports in town, putting on VBS programs at various schools, to being on a local radio program. Some of our team’s favorite times of ministry are when they are walking through town and hear the Lord calling them to stop and pray for someone. Check out Kelsey’s story from earlier in the week below!  Hey this is Kelsey! In the first week here in Guatemala, God has revealed so many beautiful opportunities to me. I’ve connected with kids a lot at VBS, and just really been in touch with the Holy Spirit. Today our...
