The Journey to Guatemala

Hola! Traveling through time and across the globe, we have finally reached our destination. Welcome to Guatemala, land of the little children peddlers, two hour long meals, and rain puddling around our ankles. Sounds wonderful, does it not? We love it already. We all woke up at three am Wednesday morning for a two hour drive from Gainseville to Atlanta. We all made it through customs…well, some of our peanut butter didn’t. The airport had “gnarly trashcans,” according to Brennan. The plane left Atlanta around 9:30 a.m. Eastern and arrived in Houston at 10:45 a.m....

Selah

Our time in Musho and Tumpa has sadly ended. We´re currently in Huaraz, about to board a bus to Lima for a time of prayer and processing. We would like to thank you all for your prayers and support as God´s hand was indeniably over our ministry.   Selah: Looking back and thinking about what we have done: We´ve been seperated into two different ministry groups based on discipleship groups. The End is Near

We’re down to the last few days and in the process of saying goodbyes and wrapping up ministry.  On Friday we started getting our taste of the rainy season, and since then we have encountered a few downpours.  In the Philippines people believe that if you go out in the rain, you will get sick, almost immediately.  That idea, paired with the fact that Basak becomes a mudslide when it rains, kept us from making it out to Basak on Saturday and Sunday.  It gave our team some time to rest and sort through some of the supplies we will be leaving behind with the church....

More Basak

Well, we’ve been in Basak all week – mostly spending time with the kids, singing – dancing – telling stories.  We’ve started to build some really good relationships in the town, and today we are headed there for more house visits and a bible study.  We’re also showing a movie in the middle of the town tonight.  Should be exciting for everyone.  We’ve also been learning how incredibly difficult the local transportation system can be once we venture away from our side of town. Over the last few days we’ve been able...

Back in the States

Hi Everyone.    I just want to take a sec and say thank you for all your support and prayers for our team.  We were able to see the Lord move in the DR and be a part of it.  There were a lot of things learned and seen.  The Lord has taught us all more about Him.  Here are some pictures of our time in the DR.                                           ...

Week Two Update from the Lima, Peru Team!

Hola Amigos y Familia,   All is well as we are in the midst of our last week in ministry in Tumpa! Since we were last able to write, our team has had the chance to continue visiting those we have built relationships with in Tumpa. The people are very open to the word of God, and ask many good questions as we share our hearts for the Lord with them. As Peru is a traditionally Catholic country, much confusion abounds about the saints and traditional worship of idols in the church. In our conversations with the people of the town we have seen the Lord open eyes and hearts as we share...
