Swaziland Team update

The team arrived yesterday.  They are all getting rested up and prepping to start ministry.  The phones and internet are a little spotty for the team but the leaders will try and update as often as they can.

A New Season

I arrived home from my month long trip to Swaziland 17 days ago. Re-entry has been very hard for me. In Swaziland I spent everyday, every hour serving others and focusing on those around me; not focusing on myself. During our stay in country we spent a lot of time pouring love and encouragement into the children at our assigned CarePoints and into the community. When the team wasn’t out doing ministry, we were still with each other 24/7. I Do Not Wake Up Anymore

I got back into the states on Thursday July 23, 2015. For the next week I woke up at 2:30 am. EVERY. SINGLE. MORNING. At first it was annoying and I would beg God to let me fall back asleep. These three words only begin to summarize how our African children’s care point ministry has gone. Internal:Learning the internal state of a child who has never experienced the love of Jesus before is hard. So many people think it’s so easy to go to another country and just love. It isn’t though. Since love-impoverished children have never experienced such an emotion before, they have no clue how to take the love, how to internalize it. That’s difficult to work...

Standing on Holy Ground

My team of 15 girls and 2 leaders were split into two groups and assigned a care point. My co-leader lead one team and I was assigned to the other. Our care point would be Ntabas, conveniently located just 5 minutes walking distance from our homestead. We weren’t sure exactly what all we’d be doing at the care point, but my girls and I were ready for just about anything our first day. As we walked onto the property we were immediately greeted by a sea of little preschoolers running towards us. Each jumped into the arms of one of the girls and wrapped their arms around...
