Update from Puerto Rico!

What a week it has been since our last post! Last week our time was split between work projects and Vacation Bible School.   The team got their hands dirty cleaning up a yard that was overgrown with weeds, plants, and broken up cement blocks.  The families living on the property were unable to do the work themselves, so we were happy to make a difference.  The yard looked great when we finished up.     After lots of sweat and hard work each morning, we headed back to camp for lunch and some chill time before heading back to the barrio.   One of our hosts,...

Day Two in Guatemala

What an amazing 48 hours the Guatemala team has had! After taking the day yesterday to explore, rest and adjust to a new culture, the team took the morning today to pray and ask the Lord what He wanted us to do today.  We started our prayer walk by trekking to the top of a mountain with a beautiful view of the city of Antigua. The team spent some time taking pictures and worshiping at the foot of the cross. We were even able to pray for some fellow believers after they heard us worshipping!  Check out Francis’ experience below!  This was my first time ATL-ing...

Uganda and Peru made it!

The teams have landed and are probably a little sleep deprived (Uganda was the first to leave and one of the last to arrive!) We can’t wait to hear all the stories and see all the pictures from their time in the Amazon or Africa.  Now we wait on India… their ETA should be sometime after 9 tonight!  Love from Adventures, Hope Mendola.

Now today and the last couple days involve rain, rain, and more rain! Back home in Lancaster, CA, it rains maybe 3 times a year for like 10 minutes top. This is such a new experience for me to see hard pouring rain allllllll day. To be completely honest, this trip has been a lot harder and more challenging than I was prepared for. I have arthritis in my knees and ankles and all the stairs and long...

3 Days of Peace

Only three days. Three days of porta potties, three days of bucket showers, three days of rough sleep, and three days of anxiety. But with that comes three days of joy, three days of peace, three days of surrender to the Lord.  Within hours of meeting my team at the airport we became best friends. It was like we had been friends all our life. When we arrived at AIM I was in tears for my teammates and all that God has in store for us. I felt so at peace with my decision to travel to the nations and share my love for Christ. All my anxiety and fear for the trip left me, and the...
