“You let a monkey into the bathroom…”

Experiencing South Africa to its full extent would be…. 1.Zulu dancing in front of the entire church congregation Sunday morning2.Playing soccer barefoot in the middle of a dirt field while being jumped on by about 3 kids at one time3.Waking up to the sunrise every morning 4.Screaming “sowabona” (means “hello” in Zulu) outside of the van while driving through the streets – and – yes, for those who know me can picture this happening. I was halfway out of the van window, waving and smiling to these people I’ve never met. It was quite amazing BUT...

Philippines Team update

The Philippines leaders called and checked in tonight. Ministry has been going well! However, there was a typhoon that passed thru that affected ministry the first few days. Philippines Team update

Heard from the leaders this morning.  The teams is doing great.  They just finished doing girls camp for street kids.  The team will post a blog with an update about this camp on Sunday.  The internet is pretty limited where they are at (they have to drive 20 to 30 mins for a good internet that won’t go out on them).  Cell service is also spotty.  The camp is great however and ministry is good.  They want to thank everyone for their prayers.

The Five Senses

I’ve never experienced jet lag before and let me tell you for those who haven’t….become close with those who you’re traveling with and understand that you WILL bark some type of attitude/sleep deprived sentence towards them at some point. Then, you’ll sit back and realize, “well shoot, that was mean…”  As I sit here on the plane from London to Johannesburg, I’ve begun to realize that my body is incompatible without sleep – although – it’s functioning, in what way I have NO clue. I figured I would tune into my...

Stand Up & Say Something

I have been here in the DR with the team for 8 days now! Within those 8 days I have learned a lot about God, the community, my team, and myself. And to think we are about half way through the trip is crazy because of everything that has happened. There is one very important lesson I want to share with everyone and my experience! So here it goes! So far on this trip I have learned a lot about how express to others when they have hurt me. I have had to do this a couple times so far on the trip because there were a couple incidents in the beginning of the trip. That was honestly really hard...
