Im Going to Miss This Place

So the past week has been one of the best weeks of my life. During the first week and a half of this trip I would have told you that I wouldn’t be sad if we left early and that I would not have a desire to come back. But, for some reason this last week has made me realize how much I love Nicaragua and how much I am going to miss everybody here. I feel like everybody here is family to me. The thought of never seeing them again after this trip really pains me and I know I will never forget them. On Friday we played mud soccer in the rain and just this past Saturday I hiked up an active...

My Growth

Hola mi amigos, it’s Izzy tunin’ in from Nicaragua!! I’m so excited to share some of my experiences with you guys considering this is my first time typing a real blog. My experience started out a little rocky, I was struggling with a lot of things with myself and places in my life I needed God to take control of because it, was affecting my relationships with people even before I came on this trip. God’s Promises, My Identity

By Jordan Pearson It’s been a dream of mine for years now to one day hopefully to English in school overseas! On my mission trips we’ve gone to schools to do VBS but today in the village of Florida, where we’ve been visiting for the past week, we got to teach the kids English! We had different groups to teach animals, weather, colors, numbers and the story of Noah’s Ark. The kids get so excited as they sit on the benches of their little church.  While they were learning all the colors in English and had just learned the word for rainbow, my teammate Caitlin...

Team USA: Ask the Lord

Today we did a thing called “ATL”—Ask The Lord—which is when, instead of a predetermined ministry activity, you pray and ask God to show you what he would like you to do. We started by praying and asking God to show us things that would direct our afternoon. Sometimes people see colors, sometimes images, or sometimes a certain word comes to mind. When we prayed today, different people saw different things, including a red truck, a boat, a can of Red Bull, the colors orange, red, and blue, and an old man in a cap. After we prayed, we started walking around town. The...

Living that Tico Life

Tico means Costa Rican. We love it here. As we dive into culture and have conversation with locals, we are learning what it looks like to love and serve this culture well. From VBS to painting a community center to Olympic games with neighborhood kids, this team has been BUSY. Yesterday we went out into San Jose to get a little bit out of our comfort zone. We evangelized to the locals, sharing the name of Jesus.  “We started out timid and ended the day with a new confidence.” Emma Williams  Here’s a little glimpse into our time here so far:  ...
