Strong and Dignified

You are strong and dignified; you can laugh at the days to come.  -Proverbs 31:25   This is such a well known verse and a verse I often overlooked until the day in Ecuador when one of my leaders, Danielle, handed each girl on our team a journal. These journals all had a different bible verse written on the front cover in free-handed calligraphy. Danielle told us that before she knew us, she had been praying for us and asked God for a specific verse to write on these journals to speak over each of our lives. How I Found Life, Light and Joy in Swazi

Growing up I did not experience, nor really relate to, most girls my age. I was brought up in different cultures, and exposed to many diverse nationalities and types of people. My family lived in Seoul, South Korea and Beijing, China- traveling to different corners of the world while abroad. Walking up to her house, I feel a weight of sadness and despair lingering over her home. Her name is Emilia. Her adult son, Manuel, sits at the opening that served as a “door” to their home, staring blankly out into the Amazonian growth, looking beyond to the river. Emmanuel. God with us. Team USA: Forever Changed
