Back in Nauta!

Hello,     We are all safely back in Nauta. Our stay in the river village called Bagazan was a day longer than we had anticipated. The Real Life team met us there and we were able to celebrate the 4th of July with them. We had a BBQ and played volleyball and soccer with the people there. The Lord really blessed our ministry in Bagazan. We were a part of church services several times where the students really stepped up and got out of their comfort zones. Severin taught many of the children to make rope bracelets and they loved it! Katie was amazing with the children, she was...

The Last Few Days… by the Girls

Klaire Fisher: Journey to San Pedro As we drove to San Pedro, we experienced a long, joyful ride through the mountains of Guatemala. We met a young boy who shined shoes for a living. We saw cows and chickens on the side of the road, and we took lots of pictures. After an hour of altitude sickness, we caught our first glimpse of beautiful Lake Atitlán and we were in awe of the sight. There were clear blue skies over the lake and breathtaking volcanoes surrounding it. When we first drove through San Pablo, we were so excited with taking pictures that we had to be reminded that the...

We LOVE Puerto Rico!

04 July2009 A little report from under the mango tree… It’s our first day here in Isabella, Puerto Rico and it’s a balmy breezy day. Today is our day to prepare for the ministry we’ll be engaged in this week. Our goal is to walk away with tools in our tool belt, to have available whenever God might open an opportunity for us to share His love. We’ll jump into our normal ministry schedule first thing in the morning. After a long travel day, it’s been great to have today to get organized and prepared for the week. Today’s been...

Nursing Home Ministry

Nursing Home MinistryBy Amanda Thomas Today (July 6) was our first ministry project and our small group went to a nursing home in Cabo Rojo. While I was there I met two beautiful Christ-loving women. One of them just asked for our prayers and wanted to hear us read the Bible and sing worship songs. The other woman told us of the wonderful things Christ has blessed her with, and how good he still is to her. Talking to these women helped me understand how great our God is. How no matter how many years go by or how many struggles and situations we’re face...

Enjoying San Pedro

When the team arrived in Guatemala my laptop broke down….prayed over laptop and it came back. At internet cafe right now.  We are all well and enjoying San Pedro! This morning we went to a Baptist church with the 1 month Ambassador team and later this evening we will attend another, where we will be singing, sharing, drimes etc. Sorry we are unable to post pictures right now. Wish we could – it’s beautiful as are the people!  This is such a talented team of girls. The three of us leaders are loving every minute with them. Our team times are filled with great...

Celebrating the 4th of July in Guatemala

This is what we did for the Fourth of July:             As a team we woke up very early and packed our things because we were moving hotels. We moved from Casa Lola to Hotel Paraiso before going to breakfast at a local restaurant. Even though it’s not paradise (the showers shock you and fireworks are constantly exploding nearby), this hotel is a lot better than we all expected we were going to be staying in. It even has a coconut tree where young men may entertain themselves by knocking coconuts off of it. Eating is always an...
