Beginnings

After months, and weeks, and days of preparation, we are finally here in the Dominican. We got  our first glimse of this beautiful country out of the plane windows. For me, that was when I realized that the dream had become a reality. That night we got on the bus and drove 2 hours to Azua, the community where we will be serving. This culture is a bit confusing at times; Dominicans take pride in there apperance and always look clean and presentable even thought the house in which they live may be nothing more that 4 concrete walls and a tin roof. Our hosts are the nicest, most most hospitable...

Sight

There is a stark difference between the “christians” in America, and the christians here in the Dominican Republic. Here, the people are genuine about their faith, not to say that all christians in America are not genuine about their faith, but here they take it to a whole new level. They have so much less, yet they are so much more grateful for what they do have. Our team can see their genuine hearts in how hospitable and friendly the people are, and also their worship. I have never expirenced such an uplifiting, energetic time of worship with God, except since we have been here.    Our...

Back in the States

Hi Everyone.    I just want to take a sec and say thank you for all your support and prayers for our team.  We were able to see the Lord move in the DR and be a part of it.  There were a lot of things learned and seen.  The Lord has taught us all more about Him.  Here are some pictures of our time in the DR.                                                                                                                                                                               ...

The Last Days of Ministry

So the last few days have been good. The VBS that I asked you to pray fpr in the last update went very well. We presented the gospel and 30 children accepted Christ. Also Last night we had a party for the Children that we ministred to in front of the AIM house we had about 80 kids show up, and a lot of them had never been there before, but our girls quickly pulled together and realized that there were new kids. So Sara preached a salvation message and 20 kids accepted Christ. We have truly had a great time of ministry in the DR. Today we are going to a local River to swim all day, and out to...

Finishing Up Strong!

Yesterday we started a new VBS in a park here in San Juan, in english the park is called Donkey Park. Yesterday was awesome we had 77 kids attend. Our Vbs is three days long with the theme,  Jesus loves us so…   1) God made you 2) He has a plan for your life 3) He died for you.   Today we were teaching about his plan for for their life, we had about 60 kids attend today. Pray that as we present the gospel to them tomorrow that, we are able to keep them focused, and that we present as clear of a picture of the gospel as possible.   Sunday we were in a village just...

Another Day in San Juan

Since we returned from the mountains early it has taken a couple of days to work out the logistics of ministry. We spent yesterday afternoon in an ATL, which means that we Listened to the Lord and followed his leading into ministry. We also had a private tour of the largest church in the DR. It was awesome. We will be doing VBS and Door to door ministry for the remainder of our time in the DR.  Pray that the lord uses us.    Sorry for such a short blog, but tomorrow is our communication day so the girls will be emailing you.   Thanks for your prayers, Shawn...
